<p>Actuellement, la régulation incombe aux chasseurs, soumis à des quotas et plans de tirs sur certaines espèces comme le cerf, le chevreuil et le sanglier, qui causent d’importants dégâts agricoles, chiffrés par le Service Public de Wallonie et l’ASBL Fourrages Mieux à une moyenne annuelle de 811. 705 euros sur la période 2020-2022. Les loups quittent la meute à partir d’un an ou deux, seuls, pour trouver un nouveau territoire et fonder une nouvelle meute. Ils peuvent alors couvrir de très grandes distances, jusqu’à quarante kilomètres par jour.
