<p>Les <em>Enfants d’Émile</em>, le nom choisi pour le projet, est un hommage à Émile Hansart, une figure locale bien connue, dont les valeurs humanistes et écologiques ont inspiré les fondateur·ices. Et depuis sa naissance il y a trois ans, on peut dire que la ferme florale n’a pas chômé : rénovation d’une maison située à proximité de la parcelle afin d’y accueillir des bénévoles venus faire du <em>Wwoofing</em><a href="#sdfootnote1sym" id="sdfootnote1anc"><sup>1</sup></a> et d’avoir un lieu de réunion, aménagement d’une plantation d’un hectare de fleurs à couper cultivées sans intrant chimique, création et entretien de zones humides en contrebas du champ. Mais pour la coopérative, ce n’est que le début. « <em>La priorité maintenant est de relier le terrain à un système d’irrigation. On aimerait aussi avoir un container pour stocker les outils, installer des toilettes sèches, etc.</em> »,<em> </em>dévoile Maureen Plas, coordinatrice et productrice au sein de la structure.</p>\n

<p>Vu du ciel, le champ est divisé en huit triangles, formant un mandala géant de 2,5 hectares. Pour l’instant, seuls trois triangles sont occupés par des plantations florales. On y trouve des glaïeuls, des capucines ou encore des narcisses. Ces dernières sont exploitées par deux producteur·ices, également membres de la coopérative : Maureen, à la tête des <em>Fleurs de Maureen,</em> et Jehan de Lannoy, pour <em>Émile en fête</em>. La première produit des fleurs locales et les livre dans un rayon de 30 kilomètres autour du champ, tandis que le second fournit des fleuristes bruxelloises et confectionne des décorations florales pour des événements. Il est aussi possible de commander des bouquets directement à la coopérative via un système d’abonnement.</p>\n

<p>Outre Maureen et Jehan, un autre porteur de projet occupe une partie de la prairie avec des chevaux de trait ardennais. « <em>La coopérative a évolué cette année pour devenir une sorte de structure qui accompagne de nouveaux producteurs pour leur faciliter l’accès à la terre et à des outils logistiques. On veut accueillir des projets diversifiés, donc pas uniquement centrés sur les fleurs</em> »,<em> </em>détaille Maureen.</p>\n

<p>La ferme s’inscrit dans le mouvement <em>Slow Flowers Belgique</em>, qui promeut la culture de fleurs de saison produites sans substances phytosanitaires. « <em>Le fait que la production varie en fonction des saisons, c’est acquis pour les fruits et légumes. Mais pas forcément pour les fleurs</em> »,<em> </em>explique Jehan. « <em>Et puis, les fleurs qui arrivent par avion de pays comme l’Éthiopie sont bourrées de produits et leur production a un impact catastrophique sur place</em> », déplore-t-il. Sans oublier que ces produits pulvérisés ont également des effets sur la santé des fleuristes belges qui les manipulent au quotidien.</p>\n

<p>Les <em>Enfants d’Émile</em>, le nom choisi pour le projet, est un hommage à Émile Hansart, une figure locale bien connue, dont les valeurs humanistes et écologiques ont inspiré les fondateur·ices. Et depuis sa naissance il y a trois ans, on peut dire que la ferme florale n’a pas chômé : rénovation d’une maison située à proximité de la parcelle afin d’y accueillir des bénévoles venus faire du <em>Wwoofing</em><a href="#sdfootnote1sym" id="sdfootnote1anc"><sup>1</sup></a> et d’avoir un lieu de réunion, aménagement d’une plantation d’un hectare de fleurs à couper cultivées sans intrant chimique, création et entretien de zones humides en contrebas du champ. Mais pour la coopérative, ce n’est que le début. « <em>La priorité maintenant est de relier le terrain à un système d’irrigation. On aimerait aussi avoir un container pour stocker les outils, installer des toilettes sèches, etc.</em> »,<em> </em>dévoile Maureen Plas, coordinatrice et productrice au sein de la structure.</p>\n

<p>Vu du ciel, le champ est divisé en huit triangles, formant un mandala géant de 2,5 hectares. Pour l’instant, seuls trois triangles sont occupés par des plantations florales. On y trouve des glaïeuls, des capucines ou encore des narcisses. Ces dernières sont exploitées par deux producteur·ices, également membres de la coopérative : Maureen, à la tête des <em>Fleurs de Maureen,</em> et Jehan de Lannoy, pour <em>Émile en fête</em>. La première produit des fleurs locales et les livre dans un rayon de 30 kilomètres autour du champ, tandis que le second fournit des fleuristes bruxelloises et confectionne des décorations florales pour des événements. Il est aussi possible de commander des bouquets directement à la coopérative via un système d’abonnement.</p>\n

<p>Outre Maureen et Jehan, un autre porteur de projet occupe une partie de la prairie avec des chevaux de trait ardennais. « <em>La coopérative a évolué cette année pour devenir une sorte de structure qui accompagne de nouveaux producteurs pour leur faciliter l’accès à la terre et à des outils logistiques. On veut accueillir des projets diversifiés, donc pas uniquement centrés sur les fleurs</em> »,<em> </em>détaille Maureen.</p>\n

<p>La ferme s’inscrit dans le mouvement <em>Slow Flowers Belgique</em>, qui promeut la culture de fleurs de saison produites sans substances phytosanitaires. « <em>Le fait que la production varie en fonction des saisons, c’est acquis pour les fruits et légumes. Mais pas forcément pour les fleurs</em> »,<em> </em>explique Jehan. « <em>Et puis, les fleurs qui arrivent par avion de pays comme l’Éthiopie sont bourrées de produits et leur production a un impact catastrophique sur place</em> », déplore-t-il. Sans oublier que ces produits pulvérisés ont également des effets sur la santé des fleuristes belges qui les manipulent au quotidien.</p>\n
